College Credit Plus for Private School Students

Private school students in grades 7 through 12 can take college classes for dual credit. If the state approves the family's request, a public college charges no tuition, and the high school's EdChoice payment stays as it is.

Who files for College Credit Plus money for a Cincinnati private school student?

The parent files, using the parent's own OH|ID login. Full-year requests are accepted from February 1 until 5 p.m. on April 1, with decisions posted by May 6; spring-term-only requests run from September 1 until 5 p.m. on November 1, with decisions by December 6.

The student also has to finish the school counseling requirement before the college term begins.

Which Greater Cincinnati colleges take College Credit Plus students?

Every Ohio public college participates, which locally means Cincinnati State, the University of Cincinnati and its Blue Ash and Clermont campuses, and Miami University in Oxford, Hamilton and Middletown. Some private Ohio colleges participate as well. Ask your high school counselor which campus its students use most.

Does College Credit Plus use up EdChoice money?

No. EdChoice pays the high school's tuition and nothing else, and College Credit Plus is funded on its own track. A senior at Badin or Purcell Marian on an $8,408 award can still add funded college courses.
