Which Cincinnati-area public buildings are EdChoice-designated for 2026-27?

DEW's 2026-2027 list designates 70 open buildings across Hamilton, Butler, Warren and Clermont counties, in seven districts: Cincinnati Public Schools (45 of 62 open buildings), Middletown City (8), Hamilton City (4), Mount Healthy (4), North College Hill (4), New Miami (3) and Lockland (2). No building in Warren or Clermont County made the list.

What does a designated building mean for our child?

Eligibility for the traditional scholarship: $6,166 in K-8 or $8,408 in high school for 2026-27, the same at every income level. Ohio looks at where your address would send your child, so a student already at a parish or independent school still counts.

How does Ohio pick EdChoice-designated buildings?

DEW uses performance-index rankings from recent years together with Title I poverty measures. A building qualifies through an academic-distress test, or by ranking in the bottom 20% while meeting the poverty threshold, and the state's spreadsheet shows which test each building met.
